\n– The “+” shims increase your rake: you\u2019ll ride more “nose up”, with the nose higher above the water.
\nThe \u201c\u2013\u201d shims reduce your rake: you\u2019ll ride more \u201cnose down\u201d, with the nose lower on the water.
\nFor symmetrical baseplates, the shims are reversible, so there\u2019s no difference between \u201c\u2013\u201d and \u201c+\u201d shims.<\/p>\n
The rake shim has a certain thickness (7mm for 1.5\u00b0 shims), so make sure your original screws are long enough; the “4 M8X40 screws” or “4 M6x40 screws” available in the shop might be useful.
